  The bar graph above indicates the estimated number of literacy in various area for both male and female in 2000. In general, there are 6 broad areas catagorised including developed countries, Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, Arab states and South Asia. With the both male and female in South Asia, the rate of literacy was the highest among 6 regions. It is almost three times higher than the rate in East Asia. Also the rate of females in Arab States showed the second highest among them. However, developes country had the least literacy rate between 6 different areas both for male and female. In conclusion, from this bar graph, we can see that lower developed regions had higher literacy rate. Futhermore, many countries should try to get rid of literacy.
