Most of people are having difficulty showing their love to their loved ones directly. So, they often show it in different ways because they could feel a kind of a sort of feeling like shy =  which is shyness. People express their love to someone by acting or doing something instead of saying "I love or like you". In my case, I would feel so shy if I should = would say "I love you mom". Definitely, it won't happen, . So, what will happen is this.  Instead of saying those words,  I often leave a = an  encouraging message or buying some gits = gifts  when visiting my hometown.
To summarize, people show their feeling of "love" in an indirect way. It is through "Nonverbal languages"
