Can you remember a time when you felt a lot of fear? Why were you so scared?

It's a experience that just about 'pure' fear. = It was an experience that was all about pure fear. When I traveled to the USA last summer, I went from New Jersey to Manhattan by myself. I wasn't scared because it was the second time to go Manhattan by myself.
However, I didn't bring anything to charge my phone, and I couldn't help trying to save my battery. I knew that I took a wrong bus after my phone was turned off. Besides, I didn't speak English well, so I couldn't understand bus driver's talk = what the bus driver was saying. That time was almost 11PM, I just had waiting = I had to wait for a bus without anything to contact someone = anyone.
Finally, I got the bus after an hour, and it was the best fear to me = and it was the scariest moment for me. I realized that I can't anything to do without smartphone. = I can’t do anything without a smartphone.
