Though technology has developed since over a long time ago, recently the speed of change is too fast to follow that. Especially the elderly The elderly, especially struggle with using this and feel left out. In this essay, I will explain what happens between technology and older people and then suggest a solution.
Daily places like cafes, cinemas, and even restaurants become the places that require skills using technology, and it is a reason why we sometimes meet old people who need help in front of machines like kiosks. They often don't know how to use that, and it's not easy to understand it at first glance. They cannot help asking but ask someone and feel they can't do even simple things. If some technology made one range of people feel embarrassed and depressed, could we argue that we are developing?
In terms of this controversial point, We we need to consider how older people feel when they face unfamiliar technology and have more discussions about how to make it reach more people. When we expand education and use user-friendly design, I'm sure the word "development" is meaningful. |
