Q: What is culture shock? Have you ever experienced it?
A: When I visited in Europe, I wondered that why don’t people comply with a traffic signal. = When I visited Europe, I wondered why people didn’t comply with traffic signals.
Many pedestrians kept going their road in spite of the red signal. = Many pedestrians kept walking despite the red light.
I felt that it was very dangerous, so they need the regulation. = I felt it was very dangerous and that regulations were necessary.
But I heard something, I had a culture shock.
In Europe, there is no need to follow traffic signal for the pedestrian. = In Europe, pedestrians do not need to follow traffic signals.
The European think that the traffic signal made by the car’s company. = Many Europeans believe that traffic signals were created by car companies.
If we obey the traffic signal, our’s rights of free are taken away from company. = If people strictly obey them, their right to freedom is restricted by the company.
We don’t have duty to help car’s moving. = We are not responsible to help the cars move.
It was so much fresh thinking for me. = This was a completely new perspective for me.
For this reason I ignored the traffic signal in Europe. = Because of this, I also started ignoring traffic signals in Europe.
I was very comfortable on the road.
