It is not rare to see young students who are engaged in unpaid work in order to accumulate a working experience for later life. And I would accept that it can be beneficial for both society and individuals. However, I do not agree that we should not force young people to do unpaid work.
Some argue that participating in volunteer/ing works would be great for young pupils. This is because they can get a chance to do self-examine about their abilities and obtain a valuable working experience in an actual field that could helps them to be more competitive in a job market. Meanwhile, our society could use these workforces with a minimum wage or even for free. Furthermore, unfortunately, it is unfortunate that the knowledge from a university is less likely to be used in the real job market. Therefore, employers are prone more likely to avoid hiring a fresh university graduate due to their unskillful abilities and the lack of working experiences. Accordingly, young students should join these volunteer works in order to meet the demands from employers. This way would could be one of the greatest ways to overcome this customary practice for young applicants. |
